NNPC Rebuts False Claims of Fuel Price Increase, Ensures Supply Stability

NIGERIAN National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has moved to swiftly dispel rumours of an impending price adjustments for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automative Gas Oil (Diesel) at its retail outlets across Nigeria.

According to the Chief, Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the falsity of these claims was debunked in a statement released via the NNPC Limited official channels on Wednesday.

In the statement, Soneye asserted: “The reports circulating regarding price adjustments are entirely false,” urging Nigerians to disregard them completely. The declaration comes as a reassurance to consumers amidst growing concerns about potential price hikes.

Furthermore, NNPC reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to ensuring a steady and ample supply of petroleum products across its retail network nationwide.

“NNPC Limited remains dedicated to maintaining the current sufficiency of petroleum product supply at all our retail stations across the country,” the statement stressed.

Soneye further notes that as the nation grapples with economic challenges, NNPC’s assurance of supply stability serves to instill hopes in motorists and businesses, who are reliant on fuel for their operations; and in the same vein, the debunking of these claims aims to inculcate confidence in the general populace and maintain stability in the fuel market.
