MARKING a pivotal moment if the state’s media landscape, the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporations (OGBC), has acquired a cutting-edge 5-Kilowatt transmitter.
The acquisition, approved by the state governor, Dapo Abiodun in December 2023, was to highlight the government’s commitment to advancing communication infrastructure.
Manufactured to exact specification by RVR Ellectronica in Bolonga, Italy, the state-of-the-art transmitter was delivered to OGBC on April 6th, 2024, heralding a new era of broadcasting prowess.
Speaking on the milestone, Mrs. Toyin Sogbesan, the General Manager, OGBC, highlighted the transformative impact of the new transmitter, emphasizing its potential to significantly enhance OGBC’s reach, providing unparalleled service to its vast audience across Ogun State.
The 5-kilowatt transmitter, set to replace the outdated 35-kilowatt model, boasts an impressive broadcasting range, extending OGBC’s signal coverage to previously underserved areas, an expansion that ensures crystal-clear reception, enriching the listening experience for loyal listeners and opening doors to new audiences.
Sogbesan also outlines the multifaceted benefits of the upgraded infrastructure, emphasizing its role in delivering high-quality programming, up-to-date news, and engaging content.
She said the enhanced broadcasting reach not only strengthens OGBC’s connection with the community but also creates opportunities for local businesses to reach a wider audience through advertising and sponsorships.
