By Helen Okechukwu, JKNMedia Reporter

AKWA Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has announced plans to commission two gas hubs in different locations within the state, aimed at bolstering the energy sector.

Governor Eno revealed that the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Depot at the Liberty Oil and Gas Free Zone in Ibeno is slated for commissioning this week, while the Ibaka Gas Hub is scheduled for next month.

He made this disclosure during a gathering of immediate and past members of the National Assembly across party lines held over the weekend in Uyo.

Expressing gratitude, the governor acknowledged the support of the former governor of the state and current Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, whom he described as a great leader prioritizing the state’s interests.

Eno also pledged his loyalty and support to Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing his state’s commitment to transcend political divides, and urging politicians to collaborate towards the common goal of national development.

He said the announcement of these gas hubs demonstrates the state government’s efforts to enhance energy infrastructure, which he believes, is crucial for economic growth and development; just as the commissioning of these hubs in anticipated to not only boost the energy sector in Akwa Ibom, but to also contribute significantly to the nation’s energy landscape, Governor Eno affirmed.
