DELTA STATE Governor Sheriff Oborevwori assured investors of the state’s secure investment environment, positioning Delta as a prime destination for business across Nigeria.

This declaration was made during the inauguration of the AHL Gas Processing Plant 2 (GPP2) in Ogbe-Ani, Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area.

Oborevwori highlighted the AHL-GPP2, a joint venture between Sterling Oil Exploration and Energy Production Company (SEEPCO) and Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC), as a testament to Delta’s investment safety.

He praised President Bola Tinubu for his decisive leadership in addressing national challenges and expressed optimism for Nigeria’s future under his administration.

“The commissioning of AHL Gas Processing Plant GPP2 marks a significant milestone for Delta State and the nation,” said Oborevwori.

“This plant harnesses Nigeria’s natural gas potential, contributing to our energy sector’s growth and economic development.

With its high-quality gas production and integration into the OB3 Gas pipeline, the facility enhances our distribution network, boosting energy security, stimulating economic growth, creating jobs, and improving living standards.”

The governor also mentioned the ongoing construction of GPP3, reinforcing Delta State’s attractiveness to investors.

President Tinubu, who officiated the inauguration of three critical gas infrastructure projects, emphasized his administration’s commitment to leveraging gas for economic growth.

The projects include the expansion of the Kwale Gas Processing Plant (GPP1) to GPP2, the development of the AHL Gas Plant by AHL Limited (a joint venture between NNPC and SEEPCO), and the ANOH-OB3 Central Trunkline Metering Station (CTMS) Gas Pipeline Project.

“These projects are pivotal in maximizing the value from our gas resources and eliminating gas flaring,” President Tinubu stated. “Our administration has fast-tracked their completion to enhance domestic gas supply, which is vital for sustainable economic prosperity.”

In other news, Delta State officials clarified the recent demolition of illegal structures on Dennis Osadebay University land in Anwai-Asaba.

The Chairman of the State Taskforce on Recovery of Government Lands, Chief Frank Omare, stressed that the demolition was not targeted at individuals but aimed at reclaiming university property from land grabbers.

“The taskforce, formed by Governor Oborevwori, is dedicated to recovering all government lands,” Omare explained. “Despite extensive outreach and warnings, illegal structures persisted, necessitating the recent actions.

The recovered land is crucial for the university’s development, and our efforts will continue across the state.”

Omare highlighted ongoing issues with land grabbing in various parts of Delta State and assured that legal measures are being respected in the recovery process.

He also revealed that fraudulent activities related to land sales are under investigation, with further actions planned for other areas like Warri, Sapele, and Ughelli.

These developments underscore Delta State’s commitment to fostering a secure investment climate and protecting public assets, contributing to the region’s broader economic and infrastructural progress.
