LAGOS Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has encouraged the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) to advocate for collaboration between the public and private sectors.

He made the call during the Nigerian Economic Summit 30th Anniversary Public Lecture and Founders’ Forum at the Lagos Business School, where the event’s theme: “In the National Interest: Reflecting on the Past, Reimaging the Future,” set the tone for discussions.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, alongside Mr. Niyi Yusuf, Chairman of the NESG Board of Directors, launched the 30th anniversary logo and emphasized the importance of unity across sectors in light of current economic and social dynamics.

He expressed the need to envision a better future for Nigerian and stressed the importance of setting ambitious goals, despite potential challenges, and also underscored the imperative for synergy within the public sector to pursue a common agenda focused on citizens service and welfare.

Moreover, he urged the NESG to enhance its public engagement efforts, citing the current launch of a podcast as a positive step towards broader outreach, as well as the significance of leveraging digital platforms to communicate the impact of NESG’s work on the lives of Nigerians.

According the NESG’s pivotal role in fostering collaboration for national development, Sanwo-Olu commended the organization for its contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth and reform agenda.

Dr. Pascal Dozie, represented by Frank Aigbogun, CEO, Business Day and NESG Board Member, reiterated the summit’s significance as a platform for constructive dialogue on Nigeria’s economy just as another member, Mrs. Ifueko Omoigu-Okauru, emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in building a cohesive foundation across sectors.
