HIGHLIGHTING THE pressing need for Nigerians to embrace a new value system to drive the nation forward, emphasis was laid on this pivotal shift in mindset as the only way to address the critical challenges facing the country.

The President stressed this charge during a recent gathering at his Lagos residence.

The delegation, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, included Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu where they expressed their support for President Tinubu’s administration and its initiatives.

Also accentuating the economic difficulties, President Tinubu stated, “Good economics at a harsh time is the challenge that we must face. No matter how difficult it is, I will not turn my back on Nigeria.”

He also urged citizens to change the rent-seeking mindset and become more productive to boost the economy and curb economic sabotage.

President Tinubu condemned the vandalization of rail tracks and theft of electric cables, stressing the importance of embracing a campaign to change the value system.

“We must tell our people that the challenge we face is for all of us to change our mindset about our country,” he added.

He commended the National Assembly leadership for their support, which has been instrumental in the administration’s achievements while acknowledging the hardships and assured the nation of his commitment to overcoming these challenges.

“We must find a way to eliminate banditry and terrorism so that farmers can bring out food from the farmland,” he said, noting the need for good infrastructure to support economic activities.

Senate President Akpabio, speaking to journalists after the meeting, reiterated the National Assembly’s dedication to improving the nation’s ease of doing business through legislative reforms.

The delegation’s visit, Akpabio noted, proved the collaborative efforts between the executive and legislative branches to address Nigeria’s pressing issues.

Following the meeting with the National Assembly delegation, President Tinubu also met with the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, to discuss further support and strategies for national progress.
