Oando Refutes Allegations of Ownership in Maltese Oil Facility

By Ajibola Olaide, JKNMedia Reporter

THE ALLEGATIONS that it owns shares in a Maltese oil storage and blending company Oando PLC has been strongly denied by Oando PLC.

The accusations, circulating on social media, claim that Oando and its executives hold interests in Raz Hansir Oil Terminal Limited.

This company supposedly imports adulterated petroleum products into Nigeria.

Oando said it conducted a thorough investigation and searched the Malta Business Registry, which lists all registered entities.

They found no evidence of Raz Hansir Oil Terminal Limited.

Further due diligence confirmed that such a company does not exist.

Oando asserts that these false claims are intended to mislead the public and stakeholders.

They emphasized that as a publicly listed company, all corporate actions, including acquisitions, are publicly declared according to corporate governance laws.

The company also highlighted the importance of accurate reporting in a press statement shared on its X handle.

Oando’s securities trade on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).

They also urged the press to verify reports with Oando’s Corporate Communications department to avoid misinformation.
