SENATOR IFEANYI Ubah, representing Anambra South district in the National Assembly, has died.
He passed away in the United Kingdom (UK) during a surgical operation.
Ubah had traveled to the UK two days before his death.
He was 52 years old and would have turned 53 on September 3.
Ubah, a prominent politician and businessman, was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Capital Oil.
He defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last year.
Despite this, he was re-elected into the 10th Senate under the YPP.
In September 2022, Ubah survived an assassination attempt in Enugwu Ukwu, Anambra State.
Gunmen attacked his convoy, killing at least five people, including two police escorts.
Ubah escaped unharmed as his vehicle was bulletproof.
The senator’s death has not yet been officially confirmed by his family. It is expected that the family would release a statement soon.
Senate Confirms Death
The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represented Anambra South.
Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu announced Ubah’s passing on Saturday without providing details on the cause.
