THE FEDERAL government and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) are set to host a national manufacturing policy summit from July 2 to 4, 2024, aiming to reshape the future of the country’s manufacturing sector.

This significant event, themed “Rethinking Manufacturing,” will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will open the summit as the Special Guest of Honour, reinforcing his administration’s dedication to industrial growth and economic diversification.

The event will see active participation from the Office of the Vice President, the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI), the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), and various other partners.

These key players will unite stakeholders from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), multilateral partners, regional institutions, and industry leaders to chart a new course for Nigeria’s manufacturing industry.

The Director-General of MAN, Segun Ajayi-Kadir, highlighted the summit’s focus on addressing the challenges hampering the manufacturing sector’s performance, enhancing supply chain resilience, and leveraging technology to foster a supportive business environment.

Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications, emphasized the importance of this event in driving sector growth and ensuring Nigeria’s economic stability and progress.
