Judiciary Launches Intensive Induction Course for New High Court Judges in Lagos

THE LAGOS State Judiciary has launched a comprehensive 7-day induction course for its 13 newly appointed Judges at the Recreation/Training Centre in GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju Alogba, Chief Judge of Lagos State, emphasized the pivotal role of the induction course in enhancing the professional capabilities of the participants.

He underscored its significance in fostering a deep understanding of judicial practices and nurturing excellence within the judiciary.

Highlighting the dynamic nature of judicial responsibilities in Nigeria, Justice Alogba referenced recent events like the #EndSARS protests, emphasizing the imperative of continuous learning and adaptation in judicial service.

Encouraging a culture of humility and knowledge-sharing among the judges, Justice Alogba urged them to engage actively with their peers, emphasizing collective commitment to judicial integrity.

Congratulating the newly appointed judges, Mr. Lawal Pedro, SAN, Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, emphasized the importance of upholding judicial norms and delivering justice confidently. He advised the judges to remain rooted in their cultural values while fulfilling their duties on the bench.

He said the induction training marks the commencement of a transformative journey for the new judges, equipping them with advanced knowledge and skills essential for discharging their judicial responsibilities effectively.
