SENATOR IFEANYI Ubah, representing Anambra South district in the National Assembly, has died.

He passed away in the United Kingdom (UK) during a surgical operation.

Ubah had traveled to the UK two days before his death according to a family member who noted they were aware of his trip.

He was 52 years old and would have turned 53 on September 3.

President Tinubu Mourns

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the family of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

Senator Ubah, a well-known businessman and politician, represented the Anambra South Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

In a statement, President Tinubu extended his sympathy to the senator’s family, friends, and colleagues.

He also commiserated with the National Assembly and the people of Anambra State over this significant loss.

The president acknowledged Senator Ubah’s contributions to the country and prayed for the repose of his soul.

He also wished for strength and comfort for Ubah’s family during this difficult time.

Ubah, a prominent politician and businessman, was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Capital Oil.

He defected from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) last year.

Despite this, he was re-elected into the 10th Senate under the YPP.

In September 2022, Ubah survived an assassination attempt in Enugwu Ukwu, Anambra State.

Gunmen attacked his convoy, killing at least five people, including two police escorts.

Ubah escaped unharmed as his vehicle was bulletproof.

The senator’s death has not yet been officially confirmed by his family. It is expected that the family would release a statement soon.

Senate Confirms Death
