Governor Ademola Adeleke inaugurated nine members of the Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MREMC) to ensure sustainable mining practices in Osun State.
This announcement was made public in a document shared on Thursday.
Addressing the committee, led by Prof. Lukman Jimoda, in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke emphasized the government’s commitment to responsible mining and environmental sustainability.
He expressed gratitude to Dr. Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals, for his support and highlighted the importance of collaborating with the federal government for efficient mining license processing.
Prof. Jimoda assured that the committee would work diligently to protect the interests of both the federal and state governments and combat environmental degradation in host communities.
