RIVERS STATE Governor Siminalayi Fubara has called for accelerated work on critical infrastructure projects across the state.
During a recent inspection, Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of completing the upgrade and expansion of four Zonal Hospitals in Rivers State to ensure timely delivery of quality healthcare services.
On Monday, Governor Fubara visited the Zonal Hospital project site in Ahoada Town, Ahoada-East Local Government Area, where he reviewed the progress made.
Accompanied by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, the Governor underscored his administration’s commitment to enhancing healthcare services.
The Governor stressed the significance of the healthcare facilities, stating: “We are here to monitor the ongoing improvements at the Zonal Hospital.
“Ensuring quality healthcare remains a top priority for our government. We are confident that by early next year, this project will be completed and benefit the people of this Senatorial District.”
Governor Fubara’s visit also included a tour of the Government Girls Secondary School in Ahoada, currently undergoing reconstruction.
The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ovy Chinedum Chukwuma, guided the Governor through the facility.
Fubara reiterated the administration’s focus on upgrading educational infrastructure to support human capital development.
Additionally, Governor Fubara inspected the Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Road project, covering half of its 33.5 kilometers.
State Commissioner for Works, Barrister Elloka Tasie-Amadi, reported that piling has been completed at various sections of the road.
The contractor assured that the project will meet specifications and be completed on schedule.
He expressed optimism about the progress and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that these projects meet their deadlines, ultimately benefiting the residents of the three local governments of Ikwerre, Emohua, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, as well as other road users.
