PRESIDENT BOLA Tinubu arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, for a three-day official visit aimed at deepening bilateral relations.

His plane touched down at the Presidential Wing of Malabo International Airport at 2:07 p.m., where Prime Minister Manuela Roka Botey warmly welcomed him.

Immediately upon arrival, President Tinubu participated in a brief welcome ceremony.

He then proceeded to the People’s Palace Court, where he was greeted by President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

A formal ceremony, including a family photo and military parade, marked this meeting between the two leaders.

Following the ceremonial welcome, both presidents engaged in a private discussion.

This meeting paved the way for the signing of critical bilateral agreements, focusing on cooperation in oil and gas as well as security matters.

President Tinubu’s visit also includes a scheduled signing of a historic visitors’ book and attendance at an official dinner in his honor.

Accompanying him on this diplomatic mission are key members of his administration.

The entourage includes Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Defence Minister Abubakar Badaru, and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) Ekperikpe Ekpo.

Also present are Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, Minister of Youth Development Jamila Ibrahim-Bio, and NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer Mele Kyari.

Tinubu’s visit follows an invitation extended by President Mbasogo to strengthen the long-standing relationship between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
