PRESIDENT BOLA Tinubu led a meeting of the Federal Executive Council in Abuja, where he officially swore in Esther Didi Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on Monday.

The President encourages Walson-Jack to serve with integrity and transparency in her new role.

She replaces Folashade Yemi-Esan, who recently retired after a distinguished career.

Tinubu praised Yemi-Esan for her exceptional service, noting her commitment to improving the civil service.

Walson-Jack expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the trust placed in her. She also thanked Yemi-Esan for her mentorship and guidance.

She also pledged to continue the reforms and introduce new ideas to make the civil service more effective.

The new HoCS is a law graduate from the University of Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987.

She has held key roles in various ministries, including Power, Water Resources, and Education.

Walson-Jack, in her response, thanked President Tinubu for the trust placed in her.

She also expressed appreciation to her predecessor, Yemi-Esan, for her mentorship.

Walson-Jack committed to building on existing reforms and introducing innovative strategies to improve the civil service’s effectiveness.

She is known for initiatives like the Federal Integrated Staff Housing Programme (FISH) and her contributions to labor relations and the national minimum wage.

An Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), Walson-Jack is also an alumna of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, and the author of the novel, ‘Roses in the Thorns’.
