WAEC Clarifies Ogun State Exam Results Delay, Denies Indebtedness Claims

THE WEST Africa Examination Council (WAEC) in Ogun State has dismissed claims that public school students’ results were withheld due to the state’s alleged debt to the council.

Mr. Ayobami Suberu, the branch controller for WAEC in Ogun, addressed the issue on Tuesday.

He described the online report as misleading and inaccurate. According to Suberu, Ogun State owes nothing to WAEC.

He attributed the delay in releasing the students’ results to a technical problem, which is currently being resolved.

Suberu assured that the council is in communication with the Head of the Test Administration Division.

He expressed confidence that the results would be released before the end of the day.

“Ogun State is not indebted to WAEC.

The report suggesting otherwise is unbalanced and mischievous,” Suberu stated.

He emphasized the importance of ethical reporting, criticizing the online media outlet for publishing the story without verifying the facts with WAEC.

He added that the council is working tirelessly to resolve the technical hitch and release the pending results promptly.
