DRUG SMUGGLING operations involving various narcotics were intercepted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) during several coordinated raids across Nigeria.
The Agency successfully blocked the export of heroin, cannabis, and other narcotics hidden in everyday items like LED lamps and footwear.
The NDLEA arrested an auto parts dealer, Ejiofor Nnaemeka Chiwuzie, at the Lagos Trade Fair complex.
His attempt to send heroin and cannabis concealed in lamps and furniture parts to Liberia was thwarted.
The drugs, weighing a total of 2.3 kilograms, were discovered in his cargo at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Further investigations led to the arrest of multiple individuals involved in drug trafficking networks.
Large quantities of narcotics including cannabis, tramadol, and pentazocine were seized in operations targeting destinations like the United States, UK, Canada, and Australia.
In Lagos, operatives arrested a wanted drug kingpin, Ajiboye Damilare Samuel, alias Na God, after a year-long pursuit.
Authorities also detained community leader Bashir Mohammed Talba following drug seizures at his residence in Badagry.
Throughout the country, NDLEA officers intensified their War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) with public sensitization campaigns and advocacy outreach.
