A NATIONWIDE broadcast will address pressing issues as part of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary on October 1, 2024.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to speak at 7 a.m., focusing on the country’s progress and the challenges ahead.
In previous independence speeches, Nigeria’s leaders highlighted themes of national unity and economic development.
Wayback in the 1983 broadcast by the late President Shehu Shagari, the government stressed the need for continued growth amidst economic struggles.
Similarly, in 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari’s address concentrated on the fight against corruption and the pressing need for reform in key sectors.
This year, Nigerians anticipate the President will address economic reforms and rising insecurity.
According to a press statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, (Information & Strategy) on September 30, 2024, the nationwide broadcast will be available via major television and radio networks through the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
