THE NIGERIA Police Force has declared Andrew Wynne, a British national, and his Nigerian associate, Lucky Ehis Obiyan, wanted for allegedly orchestrating a plot to overthrow Nigeria’s democratically elected government.

Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich or Drew Povey, is accused of establishing a network of sleeper cells aimed at destabilizing the country.

According to police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Wynne built his operations under the guise of an “Iva Valley Bookshop” and a “STARS of Nations Schools” in Abuja.

The police allege that these were fronts for his subversive activities designed to incite chaos and ultimately overthrow the government led by President Bola Tinubu.

Wynne reportedly financed and directed his collaborators, urging them to incite public unrest by violently attacking police stations and military facilities.

The intention was to provoke a violent response, leading to international condemnation of the Nigerian government.

The police highlighted that these actions constitute a breach of the Terrorism (Prevention) Act of 2011, among other laws.

Since the investigation began, Wynne and Obiyan have reportedly fled the country.

Authorities have launched a global manhunt to apprehend both individuals.

Meanwhile, ten suspects associated with the plot have been arrested and arraigned on charges including criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treason, and subversion.

The arraigned individuals include Angel Love Innocent, Opaluwa Eleojo Simeon, Michael Tobitoba Adaramoye (aka Leni), Suleiman Yakubu, Buhari Lawal, Mosiu Sadiq, Abayomi Adeyemi, Abdulsalam Zubairu, Nuradeen Hamis, and Bashir Bello.

In a related development, the police invited members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) leadership for questioning.

Contrary to public speculation, ACP Adejobi clarified that the invitation was not connected to the union’s advocacy activities but was focused on uncovering their relationship with Wynne.

The investigation has revealed significant ties between the NLC leadership and Wynne’s alleged subversive network.

As the police continue their investigation, the Nigerian public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
