NIGERIA’s ONGOING struggles with malnutrition, healthcare access, and agricultural productivity will receive attention from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as it deepens its commitment to Africa’s development.

Amid economic challenges, experts in Nigeria’s Primary Health Care (PHC) system, agriculture, and nutrition continue to drive progress, a focus that the Foundation aims to bolster during an upcoming visit.

The Foundation’s leaders, including Bill Gates, plan to meet with these experts to explore innovative solutions that could further enhance the nation’s efforts.

In addition to these meetings, a pan-African virtual dialogue will be held to address malnutrition through integrated health, agriculture, and financing solutions.

The event, scheduled for Tuesday, September 3rd, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM WAT, will feature Gates alongside musician, educator, and humanitarian Jon Batiste.

Interested participants are encouraged to register for the event.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation firmly believes that Africa’s most pressing challenges can be solved from within the continent.

Since its inception in 2000, the Foundation has partnered with African regional institutions, national governments, and local communities across 49 African countries.

These collaborations have led to significant advancements in health, agriculture, equality, and anti-poverty initiatives.

Through 2026, the Foundation has committed over $7 billion to support African countries and institutions.

These funds aim to confront hunger, disease, gender inequality, and poverty by working with African governments, the private sector, non-profit organizations, and civil society.

The goal is to improve health outcomes, boost agricultural productivity, expand access to digital financial services, and empower women and marginalized populations with greater economic opportunities.
