A NEWLY completed shopping complex in Port Harcourt promises economic relief for police widows and their families.

The Police Officers Wives’ Association (POWA) spearheaded the project as part of their ongoing efforts to support members of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF).

The announcement was made by Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, National President of POWA and wife of the Inspector-General of Police, during a visit to the Government House in Port Harcourt.

This highlights POWA’s commitment to ensuring financial independence for its members.

She said the shopping complex will offer employment opportunities and economic stability, directly benefiting police officers’ widows and families.

Mrs. Egbetokun expressed gratitude to Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his support of POWA and the Nigerian Police Force.

Governor Fubara pledged further backing from the state government and urged police officers to continue serving with professionalism.

He emphasized the importance of leaving a lasting legacy and called on POWA members to offer prayers for his administration.

The Governor also acknowledged the significant impact of POWA’s work in supporting widows of late officers.

He adds that the project reflects the state government’s collaboration with POWA to uplift widows and create sustainable community development.
