A FREE breast cancer screening initiative will offer life-saving health services to 250 women across Nigeria in October 2024.
This programme aims to improve early detection rates, crucial for reducing breast cancer-related deaths, particularly for women with limited access to healthcare.
The screening also aligns with global efforts to prevent avoidable deaths and supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3).
Polaris Bank is sponsoring the initiative as part of its long-standing commitment to women’s health advocacy.
For over a decade, the bank has partnered with Care Organisation Public Enlightenment (C.O.P.E) to provide breast cancer awareness, education, and free screenings to over 20,000 women across Nigeria.
The Year 2024’s effort continues to empower women by offering access to early diagnosis and treatment, which can significantly improve survival rates.
According to a press statement, commentators have praised Polaris Bank’s role in supporting non-profits like C.O.P.E to ensure that healthcare services reach underserved communities.
