EFFORTS TO promote financial literacy among Nigerian students reached a significant milestone with a programme designed to inspire young minds about the importance of savings and prudent financial habits.

Polaris Bank announced it has just concluded a nationwide initiative with an impactful session at Government Day Secondary School, Pantami, Gombe State, as part of activities to commemorate World Savings Day 2024.

The programme, spearheaded by the bank, engaged schools across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

On November 14, 2024, the final session combined interactive discussions and practical lessons to equip students with essential financial knowledge.

Aliyu Baba Adamu, Polaris Bank’s Group Head for the North East, emphasized the importance of financial literacy.

“This project empowers young Nigerians to make informed financial decisions as Polaris Bank remains committed to bridging the financial literacy gap while fostering financial inclusion, economic growth, and sustainability,” he said.

The Principal of Government Day Secondary School, Mal. Muhammad Saje Daudu, also commended the initiative.

“Our students gained invaluable insights into the discipline of savings. We are grateful for Polaris Bank’s investment in shaping the financial future of our youth,” he remarked.

Beginning on October 28, 2024, the initiative reached thousands of students nationwide, highlighting the critical role education plays in financial inclusion.

Polaris Bank has consistently demonstrated a commitment to impactful social initiatives, providing young Nigerians with tools to navigate an evolving financial landscape.

This dedication to excellence extends beyond financial literacy.
