DELTA STATE Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has committed N250 billion from the 2025 budget to road infrastructure across the state’s 25 Local Government Areas.
This includes a specific provision of N50 billion for road projects and an additional N200 billion for major constructions, as outlined in the budget passed by the State House of Assembly.
During a courtesy visit by the Ndokwa Neku Union, led by Brig. Gen. Mike Ndubuisi (rtd), Governor Oborevwori emphasised inclusivity in governance.
He assured the Ndokwa Nation of ongoing projects, such as the Ndemili/Utagba-Uno road and the Kwale-Ashaka road, would be prioritised during the dry season.
Addressing concerns over Sterling Oil’s alleged non-compliance with its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Oborevwori urged dialogue over confrontation and promised to facilitate discussions with the company.
The governor refuted claims by Senator Ned Nwoko regarding discussions on the Okpai Independent Power Project, clarifying that their only interaction involved appointments for Delta North constituents.
Ndokwa Neku Union later commended the governor’s efforts and requested more road projects and a campus of Dennis Osadebay University in the Ndokwa region.
