TETFund Denies Allegations of APC Funding, Calls Claims Baseless

ALLEGATIONS OF misappropriated funds by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) raising concerns in public discourse have been refuted.

In a circulating letter, attributed to Mrs. Patricia Yakubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Woman Leader in Adamawa State, she alleges that TETFund provided N325 million in funding to the party between October 2023 and October 2024.

Swiftly, TETFund has dismissed these claims, labelling them “preposterous and entirely false.”

The organisation also emphasised that no evidence supports her allegations, describing the claims as damaging to public trust and integrity.

According to the Fund, the implicated General Murtala Mohammed College (GMMC), Yola, is not among its beneficiaries, countering accusations of contract sales tied to the institution.

Furthermore, TETFund noted that Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola, a recognised beneficiary, manages its contractors independently, adhering to established policies.

As such, allegations linking TETFund to partisan funding were described as “frivolous” and attributed to unnamed desperate individuals seeking to mislead the public.

Reaffirming its commitment, TETFund stated it remains focused on its statutory mandate to rehabilitate tertiary education institutions nationwide.

Since its establishment, including its rebranding under President Bola Tinubu, the Fund has prioritised transparency and impactful delivery of educational support.

In a statement issued on 12th December 2024, signed by Abdulmumin Oniyangi, Director of Public Affairs, on behalf of the Fund’s Executive Secretary, TETFund urged the public to dismiss the allegations and demanded that critics ensure accuracy before levelling unfounded accusations.
