POSITIVE CONTRIBUTIONS by Nigerians abroad continue to shape the country’s global image, inspiring younger generations and fostering diplomatic relations.

President Bola Tinubu highlighted this during meetings with newly appointed envoys from Canada, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, and the Vatican at the State House in Abuja.

During his engagement with Canada’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Pasquale Salvaggio, Tinubu welcomed reports of Nigerians excelling in education, science, health, business, and sports.

Salvaggio emphasised Nigeria’s role as Canada’s largest trading partner in Africa and expressed interest in expanding collaboration in oil and gas, ICT, and agriculture.

Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner, Dr Julius F. Sandy, acknowledged Nigeria’s longstanding support in his country’s development.

Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to regional stability, while Ethiopia’s Ambassador, Legesse Geremew Haile, and Vatican’s Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Michael Francis Crotty, discussed cultural and educational partnerships.

Tinubu praised the Catholic Church for its role in education and poverty alleviation, underscoring the importance of continued cooperation.
