DELTA STATE Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged Nigerians to embrace unity and peace as essential foundations for national development.

He called on Deltans and Nigerians to reflect on the importance of unity in achieving national progress.

“This is a time to reflect on the power of unity because it is essential for our common good. Let us support one another, work together for progress, and uphold values that will make our state and nation greater,” he urged.

On security, Oborevwori assured residents that the state remains stable, attributing this to effective collaboration with security agencies.

“The service chiefs are here; we work together. Some of the incidents reported in other states do not happen here—some are media exaggerations. However, we will continue to enhance security measures,” he said.

He made this appeal at the 60th birthday thanksgiving service of the State Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme, held at St. Phillips Anglican Church, Asaba, on Sunday.

In his address, Governor Oborevwori emphasised that the nation’s future holds promise if citizens work together in harmony.

“Today, we celebrate a reliable and dedicated Deputy Governor. My brother Onyeme, we are pleased that you prioritised gratitude to God before any other festivity. Your medical outreach touched lives, and for that, God will continue to bless you,” Oborevwori stated.

The governor also lauded his deputy’s unwavering loyalty and service, affirming their strong working relationship. “Your loyalty is not 99 percent but 100 percent. I appreciate your support, and I am happy to work with you as my deputy,” he remarked.
