LAGOS PUPILS in Ikorodu received a morale-boosting start to their school term as the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) advanced its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts with the second phase of its Back-to-SchoolStorm initiative.

The outreach covered four public primary schools—Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo; Anglican Primary School, Igbogbo; Etunrenren Primary School; and Muslim Primary School, Ikorodu—where pupils were presented with a range of essential learning materials.

These included exercise books, writing tools, and eco-friendly school bags made from repurposed advertising banners, reinforcing the Agency’s environmental commitment.

The initiative aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda, which foregrounds education and social development as part of Lagos State’s wider policy priorities.

LASAA’s Managing Director, Prince Fatiu Akiolu, led the campaign, reiterating the Agency’s dual commitment to academic excellence and sustainable practices.

He was joined by key LASAA officials: Director of Administration and Human Resource, Mr Gbolahan Oloko; Head of Operations and Innovation, Mr Adegbolahan Dixon; Head of Corporate Communications and Strategy, Mrs Atinuke da-Silva-Osadjere; and the Head of Legal Department, Mrs Titilope Raheem.

The Back to School Storm also benefitted from the support of the Omo Daada Foundation, with its founder, Honourable Omoniyi Dada, playing an active role in the distribution of supplies.

Dufil Prima Foods, a major sponsor, enhanced the initiative with the donation of additional school items and nutritious meals, adding a vital welfare component to the programme.

Chairman of the Igbogbo Bayeku Local Council Development Area, Honourable Sesan Daini, praised LASAA’s gesture, describing it as a meaningful investment in the future of the community’s children.

Adding a recreational dimension to the programme, Honourable Gbolahan Ogunleye—Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly for Ikorodu I and Chairman of the House Committee on Sustainable Development Goals and Overseas Investment—donated table tennis equipment to promote sports among the pupils.

He urged school heads to incorporate physical and emotional wellbeing into their educational frameworks, ensuring a more holistic approach to learning.

LASAA sais the initiative is set to continue across more schools in Lagos, with Prince Akiolu affirming its resolve to support youth development and create a learning-friendly environment for all pupils in the state.
