THE LAGOS State Government has revealed a comprehensive six-month traffic diversion strategy aimed at facilitating the rehabilitation of key sections of Adeniji through Falomo Road, encompassing Bourdillon and Queens Drive.
Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, unveiled this plan in a statement issued on Friday, detailing the impending road repairs scheduled to commence from Monday, May 13, 2024, with an expected completion date of November 7, 2024.
Osiyemi emphasized the necessity of these repairs to address the deteriorated asphalt sections of the roads, underscoring the phased approach adopted to mitigate traffic disruptions.
The initial phase, slated to begin on May 13, 2024, will concentrate on the segment from Glover Road Junction on Alfred Rewane Road to Falomo Roundabout.
During this phase, vehicular access from Glover Junction to Falomo Roundabout will be restricted, redirecting motorists onto Thompson Avenue via Bourdillon Road to access Falomo Bridge.
Conversely, traffic from Falomo Roundabout towards the Mainland will remain unaffected.
In urging motorists for patience, the commissioner reiterated the importance of the partial closure as an integral component of the overall traffic management strategy devised in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works to execute the much-needed rehabilitation of the affected road sections.
This traffic diversion plan aims to ensure minimal disruptions while facilitating the timely completion of vital infrastructure repairs, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing the state’s transportation network for the benefit of its residents and commuters alike.

Lagos State, thanks for your efforts to give us smooth rides, but
1st. How many diversions make one year?
2nd and most important. Since the Local Governments and LCDAs aren’t seen for decades, doing any road repairs in most inner roads under them, let the State Government come to our aid
I pray they heed this call sir. Thank you very much for your comments, sir.
