GOVERNOR DAPO Abiodun has approved the adoption of several National Council on Establishments (NCE) resolutions for Ogun State’s civil service.

The state’s Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, announced this during a visit from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Ogun State Council, led by Chairman Comrade Hameed Ademola-Benco.

Governor Abiodun’s approval includes the lateral conversion of Information Officers to Information/Public Relations Officers and raising entry levels for Graduate Nurses and Engineers to GL 10.

These measures aim to boost worker morale.

Mr. Onasanya highlighted the government’s commitment to worker welfare, noting that all deductions from July 2022 to the present have been paid, and outstanding deductions from March 2021 to June 2022 will be cleared soon.

Leave allowances from January 2023 have also been settled, and July salaries have been paid.

He praised the government’s proactive approach, mentioning Ogun’s status as the first state in the South West to implement palliative measures for increased fuel prices.

The administration prioritizes capacity building and subsidizes worker healthcare through the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme.

Mr. Onasanya assured that the state is addressing consequential adjustment issues.

He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to maintaining a positive relationship with labor unions to enhance worker welfare.

Comrade Ademola-Benco appreciated the opportunity to engage with the Head of Service directly.

He thanked the state government for its continuous support and presented additional demands, including adjustments on pensions, the contributory pension scheme, and the release of all deductions and leave allowances.

The 2nd Vice Chairman of the NLC, Mrs. Bidemi Alafiatayo, also commended the administration for its worker-friendly policies.
