GOVERNOR DAPO Abiodun of Ogun State has called on Nigerians to exercise patience and offer support as the current administration’s economic policies take effect.

He emphasized the need for time and cooperation to see the benefits of these policies.

Speaking on Monday at the inauguration of the Governing Council of the Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science and Technology in Ijebu-Ode, Abiodun praised the youths and students of Ogun State for their law-abiding nature during the #EndBadGovernance protests.

He appreciated their choice of constructive engagement in expressing their concerns.

The governor acknowledged the challenges faced by the country, noting that these issues are not unique to Nigeria but are global.

He assured the youths that their well-being and welfare are priorities for both the state and federal governments.

Abiodun stated that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains responsive to their demands and is committed to addressing them.

Abiodun urged the newly appointed members of the Governing Council to use their expertise to advance the college.

He highlighted the importance of their role in supporting his administration’s efforts to build a better future for Ogun State.

He reminded them to honour their oath of office and fulfill the trust placed in them by the government and the people.

The governor also mentioned the significant contribution of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, after whom the institution is named.

He noted that the ruler is dedicated to the development of the college and has started raising funds for its progress.

Reflecting on the institution’s history, Abiodun stated that the school, established in 1978, has played a crucial role in the development of teachers for the state and the nation.

In his remarks, Mr. Wole Sowole, Chairman of the Governing Council, expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to lead the institution.

He assured that the council would strive to ensure the college’s success.

Other council members include Engr. Femi Omotayo, Reverend Bola Oyeledun, Maj. Gen. Bamidele Matthew Shafa (Rtd), and Prince Kayode Tejuoso.
