A BRAND-new Toyota Pradohas been presented to the first winner, Mr. Daniel Mayuku, in a vibrant ceremony held at the Gloworld Store at the Delta Mall, Warri, in Delta State.
The Globacom’s Festival of Joy customer got the reward promotion reaching an exciting milestone on Thursday, 21 November 2024, at the presentation ceremony.
The impressive event saw the winner, Mr. Mayuku, the Board Chairman of the Delta State Security Trust Fund, receive the car key from prominent dignitaries, including Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, and Chief Anthony Ofoni, Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area.
The grand prize presentation ceremony, which was attended by several dignitaries, including the representative of the Urhobo community in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Hon. Karo Goru Jonathan, Chief Anthony Ofoni of Uvwie LGA, and Mrs. Anwuli Efejuku of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), was electrified by performances from comedians Gordons, Nollywood actress Ese Eriata, and M.C. Forever, alongside an energetic dance from the Ema Dance Troupe. The event was truly a carnival-like affair.
Mr. Mayuku, who said he was still in disbelief when he first received the call informing him of his win, recalled how he initially thought it was all a scam.
“When I received the first call, I thought it was a scam and immediately told the caller not to call again,” he said. “But soon after, I started receiving calls from my friends, and I decided to check with my contacts at Glo.
“They confirmed it, and I couldn’t believe it. I jokingly asked for the car, and they told me to come to the Glo office for verification.
“Today, I am standing here with my new Prado. Globacom has truly proven itself to be Nigerian; they delight their subscribers every year. They remain the best.”
The event was not just about Mr. Mayuku’s prize but also a celebration of several other lucky winners. Among them, Ovueve Efejiro, a native of Ughelli, was presented with a tricycle (Keke).
She was elated, saying, “I just won a Keke through the Festival of Joy promo. I am very grateful to Glo. This Keke will help my family. My brother will use it for commercial purposes immediately.”
Felix Gabriel, another winner who took home a power generator, expressed his gratitude to Globacom for always remembering Nigerians through its annual promos. “It’s incredible how Glo continues to give back to the people,” he remarked.
The event also included a special address by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.
He lauded Globacom’s consistent generosity over the years and highlighted the positive impact the company’s promos have had on Nigerians. “Globacom is a network that is known for giving.
Over the years, many Nigerians have been empowered by Glo. The people of my constituency in Warri SouthWest and the entire Delta people are grateful to Glo. I will ensure my line stays on, and I hope to be part of the winners in the future.”
Mrs. Anwuli Efejuku, the Head of Licensing and Operation at the National Lottery Regulatory Commission’s Delta State office, was also full of praise for the transparency of Globacom’s Festival of Joy promo.
“We witnessed the raffle draw here in Warri a few days ago, and it was conducted openly and fairly in the presence of everyone. Today, the winners are being presented with their prizes,” she said.
Globacom’s Regional Manager in Warri, Mr. Frederick Oiboh, took the opportunity to explain how customers can participate in the ongoing Festival of Joy promo.
He outlined the simple process: customers need to dial *611# and recharge their Glo lines to qualify for various prizes.
