AS NIGERIA marks its 64th Independence Anniversary, Governors Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State have emphasized the need for unity to overcome the country’s pressing economic and security challenges.

Both leaders urged Nigerians to put aside ethnic, political, and religious differences and work collectively toward national progress.

Governor Oborevwori called on citizens to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation’s past heroes and to renew their commitment to building a united and prosperous country.

He stressed the importance of patience and faith in addressing Nigeria’s ongoing struggles, particularly in the areas of security and economic stability.

He reassured the people of Delta State of his administration’s dedication to improving their lives through the MORE Agenda, which aims at ensuring sustainable development.

Governor Fubara aired similar sentiments, calling for unwavering national unity in the face of adversity.

He commended President Bola Tinubu’s bold economic reforms aimed at addressing structural issues and fostering long-term growth.

Fubara urged fellow governors to intensify efforts against insecurity, banditry, and economic sabotage, particularly oil theft in the Niger Delta, which has hindered the region’s development.

Both governors extended warm Independence Day greetings to Nigerians, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring a better future for all citizens.

They acknowledged the resilience of the Nigerian people and encouraged a renewed focus on unity, peace, and collaboration to overcome current challenges.
