OUTLINING AMBITIOUS plans for economic growth and infrastructure development, Governor Dapo Abiodun has signed the N1.054 trillion 2025 State Appropriation Bill into law.
The signing, held at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta, sets the stage for transformative projects across various sectors.
Governor Abiodun revealed that the state will soon finalise a partnership agreement for the Olokola Sea Port project, marking a significant milestone in its economic strategy.
The administration also plans to expand renewable energy initiatives, boost agricultural productivity, and improve road infrastructure.
The governor said these initiatives aim to position Ogun as a leader in beef and pork production for both domestic use and export.
The governor emphasised continued investment in education and healthcare, stating that primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare facilities would receive further attention.
Key roads, including the Ijebu-Ode-Epe and Sagamu-Abeokuta highways, will also be upgraded to facilitate economic activity and increase internally generated revenue.
Governor Abiodun acknowledged the economic challenges Nigerians face due to federal reforms.
He assured residents that the state government is committed to providing palliatives to ease the burden while creating opportunities for long-term growth.
Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, commended the governor’s vision and highlighted the Assembly’s commitment to the timely passage of the budget.
He noted that this year’s budget was passed with unprecedented speed to ensure the continuity of developmental projects.
The collaboration between the executive and legislative arms was credited for the state’s rapid progress, with both leaders pledging to continue working together for the benefit of Ogun residents.
