A SIGNIFICANT operation by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) led to the arrest of five individuals in Abia State for their involvement in crude oil theft.
Authorities seized 20,000 liters of stolen crude oil concealed in cellophane bags.
The arrests occurred late at night after officials received reliable information about the suspects’ activities.
This operation aligns with the NSCDC’s commitment to its “zero tolerance” policy against vandalism and oil theft.
Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Audi commended the performance of CG SIS Commandant Appolos Dandaura, who received a new rank for his efforts.
He emphasized that significant responsibilities accompany such achievements.
The confiscated oil originated from a vandalized pipeline in the Umielechi/Izam community.
The arrested suspects include 20-year-old Danniel Augustine, 23-year-old Moses Friday, 42-year-old Igboshe Musua, 28-year-old Sadiq Yunusa, and 33-year-old Dozie Ugo.
Authorities also recovered several motorcycles during the raid, including two Dalong Super Wolf motorcycles and a Qlink 150-ES electric start motorcycle.
The NSCDC remains dedicated to safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure across the nation.
