PLANS TO establish the Inland Dry Port in Ogun State are underway, aiming to strengthen the state’s economy and Nigeria’s overall industrial growth.
The initiative, backed by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and Governor Dapo Abiodun, seeks to accelerate development in the Gateway State.
According to Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, the project will drive economic advancement and enhance industrialization across the state.
The foundation-laying event is scheduled for Friday, October 11, at Dry Port City, located in Soderu Village, Itori, along the Papalanto-Ewekoro corridor.
The event will gather top officials, including transport specialists, regulators, and policymakers.
Key stakeholders such as the Nigerian Shippers Council, Nigerian Railway Corporation, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Ogun State Shippers Association, and freight forwarders will also be present.
The governor said this development is seen as a strategic move to improve logistics, facilitate trade, and attract investment into the state, marking a new chapter in Ogun’s economic transformation.
