AN UNNAMED worsening medical issue at home has led to the indefinite leave of absence of a top presidential adviser.
Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, announced his decision after consulting with his family.
He submitted an official memo to the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajamiala, on Friday, informing the presidency of his pause in duties, stating he had held in-depth discussions with his family, as the health concerns at home worsened.
Ngelale’s responsibilities, including his roles as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chair of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, are affected.
He requested understanding and privacy as his family navigates this challenging time. Ngelale expressed hope of returning to national service once the situation improves.
The leave of absence takes immediate effect, with no specified return date.
He however expressed hope of returning to national duties when conditions allow.
