Sanwo-Olu Tasks New Lagos Perm Secs on Leadership, Innovation

LAGOS STATE Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said he is placing high expectations on its civil service leaders to drive innovation, inclusivity, and efficiency.

He made the remarks when he swore in eight newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and Tutors-General on Friday, charging them to lead with integrity and empathy while ensuring Lagos remains a development benchmark.

During the ceremony at Lagos House, Ikeja, the governor described the appointments as both recognition of excellence and a call to greater responsibility.

“These roles demand not only innovation and vision but also the ability to inspire teams and transform lives. Lagosians are counting on your dedication to advance the vision of a Greater Lagos,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu also reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the new officials, emphasizing the need for collaboration across ministries. He assured them of the resources required to succeed in their roles.

The appointees include Princess Adebopo Abosede Oyekan-Ismaila (Teaching Service Commission), Mrs. Abisola Khadijat Dokunmu-Adegbite (Audit Service Commission), and Mrs. Ojo Olayinka Modupe (Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget). Others are Mr. Hameed Olanrewaju Oyenuga (Ministry of Justice and Solicitor-General), Dr. Adetola Muyiwa John (Office of the State Auditor General), Mr. Kadri Semiu Oluwasanu (Office of the Chief of Staff), Mrs. Mojisola Christiana Yusuf (Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary, Education District VI), and Mr. Hassan Dauda Abiodun (Tutor-General, Education District V).

Moreover, the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, lauded the appointments as merit-based and transparent, highlighting their importance in strengthening Lagos’s governance framework.

He noted that the selected individuals have consistently demonstrated loyalty, excellence, and an unblemished record in public service.

Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, Mr. Kadri pledged their commitment to the THEMES+ Agenda and effective service delivery.

He thanked the governor for his trust and promised to uphold the administration’s vision of progress and inclusivity.

The governor extended gratitude to the families of the appointees, acknowledging their support in shaping the new leaders.
