Senate President Pledges Development for Ekiti State

SENATE PRESIDENT Godswill Akpabio has promised development projects for Ekiti State.

He assured the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, and his council during their visit on Wednesday.

Akpabio welcomed the Ewi-in-Council warmly.

He emphasized the Senate’s commitment to Ekiti, highlighting the appointment of Opeyemi Bamidele, an Ekiti son, as Senate Leader.

He assured swift action on Ekiti’s requests, particularly on improving bad roads before the upcoming festival.

Akpabio also appreciated Ekiti’s political leaders, especially Governor Biodun Oyebanji, for their competence.

He stressed the Senate’s close cooperation with the House of Representatives.

He further acknowledged the vital role of traditional institutions in society, expressing high regard for them.

The Senate President praised Oba Adejugbe for his influential leadership assuring them that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda would benefit all Ekiti people.

Oba’s Response to Senate President

Oba Adejugbe thanked Akpabio for the warm reception, even on short notice.

He praised Akpabio’s leadership for maintaining a harmonious Senate and National Assembly.

The monarch then invited Akpabio as the Principal Guest of Honour for the 2024 Odun Olorunborun UDIROKO festival.

He also commended Akpabio’s achievements as Akwa Ibom State governor and expressed hope for his presence at the festival.
