NIGERIA GRAPPLES with growing regional challenges, including youth unemployment, poverty, and insurgency, as President Bola Tinubu calls for a united response across West African states.

During his participation as a special guest of honour at Ghana’s recent presidential swearing-in ceremony, Tinubu emphasised the need for collaboration among ECOWAS member nations.

He noted that successful democratic transitions, like Ghana’s, demonstrate Africa’s capacity for political maturity and productive governance.

The President’s plane landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 9:30 pm on Tuesday, following his engagements abroad and in Lagos.

He was received by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and senior security officials.

Before his trip to Ghana, Tinubu spent the Christmas and New Year holidays in Lagos.

During his stay, he held strategic meetings with leaders from the National Assembly, governors of the 36 states, and traditional rulers.

In discussions with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Tinubu urged governors to prioritise local council development, stressing the importance of grassroots impact.

The governors reiterated their commitment to advancing Nigeria’s development under his leadership.

The President also hosted His Royal Majesty, the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, at his Lagos residence.

Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to partner with traditional leaders to strengthen national cohesion and governance at all levels.

He praised traditional institutions for their critical role in fostering unity and economic growth across Nigeria.

Tinubu’s presence in Accra further underscored his dedication to promoting regional collaboration.

While addressing dignitaries at the swearing-in of Ghana’s 32nd democratically elected President, John Dramani Mahama, Tinubu highlighted the urgent need for member states to work collectively in tackling poverty, insurgency, and instability that threaten the region’s progress.
