Chess Master Onakoya Earns President Tinubu and Gov Sanwo-Olu’s Congratulations on GWR

IN A historic feat, Nigerian-born chess master, Tunde Onakoya, has shattered the Guiness World Record (GWR) for the longest unbeaten streak, drawing praise from top leaders including President Bola Tinubu and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Onakoya’s remarkable achievement, achieved after an intense 58-hour battle at New York City’s iconic Times Square, sparked widespread celebration across Nigeria and beyond.

President Tinubu took to social media to express his delight at Onakoya’s triumph, hailing it as a testament to Nigeria’s irrepressible and ingenuity on the global stage.

He applauded the Chess in Slum Africa founder for not only clinching the record but also for his efforts in raising funds to empower African children through the game of chess.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a separate message, lauded Onakoya’s unwavering determination, which he brought Lagos yet another moment of global recognition. Encouraging the chess prodigy to continue his journey, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the power of perseverance in turning dreams into reality.
