NIGERIA HAS signed transformative agreements worth over €300 million with the French Government and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
These deals aim to strengthen critical sectors and accelerate sustainable development across the nation.
The agreements, formalised through a Letter of Intent and a Declaration of Intent, target healthcare, transportation, agricultural value chains, renewable energy, human capital development, urban infrastructure, and education, with an emphasis on STEM.
The Federal Ministry of Finance, led by Wale Edun, emphasised the strategic importance of these agreements.
Edun highlighted that the partnership reflects confidence in Nigeria’s economic reforms and aims to build robust systems to empower citizens.
AFD reaffirmed its commitment to projects aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
These include energy transition initiatives, agro-logistics hubs, and MSME financing, all designed to create jobs and foster growth.
He said the agreements underscore the strong bilateral ties between Nigeria and France, focusing on shared prosperity through targeted investments.
