Globacom Expands Network with Major Nationwide Infrastructure Upgrade

By JKNewsMedia

TELECOMMUNICATION USERS in Nigeria are set to experience significant improvements as Globacom accelerates its nationwide network expansion.

The company announced that the upgrade, launched last year, includes installing new base transceiver stations and modernising existing infrastructure to enhance voice and data services.

Despite recent telecom tariff increases, Globacom says it maintains its commitment to world-class service delivery while keeping its pricing competitive.

The company also said it has rolled out hundreds of new sites across key locations, including Lagos, Ogun, Nasarawa, Rivers, Edo, Delta, Cross River, Kaduna, Kano, and Abuja.

This expansion is expected to reduce congestion and improve service quality in high-traffic areas.

To bolster data services, Globacom said it has integrated LTE 2600 sites in Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, and Kwara, as well as select tertiary institutions.

Additionally, over 1,700 sites in multiple states, including Enugu, Abia, Bayelsa, and Benue, have received network enhancements in line with the Federal Government’s broadband penetration initiative.

The company has also increased its 2G, 3G, and 4G base stations nationwide while upgrading its Glo1 submarine cable capacity to maximise network efficiency.

In a bid to improve reliability, Globacom said it has further embarked on a large-scale power and fibre infrastructure upgrade, deploying thousands of new generators and replacing extensive fibre routes.

All these upgrades, the company says, reinforce its mission to deliver seamless, high-speed connectivity, towards ensuring an improved user experience for millions of Nigerians.
