A SIGNIFICANT boost to infrastructure development has emerged with the approval of projects worth N275 billion in Delta State, alongside the mobilisation of contractors with 40% upfront funding.

This noble decision, taken at a single Executive Council (EXCO) meeting, emphasises a commitment to enhancing economic and infrastructural progress.

Commissioner for Works and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, highlighted that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s governance philosophy—centred on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness—drove this milestone.

Speaking alongside the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Festus Ahon, and the Executive Assistant on Public Enlightenment, Aniagwu assured that Delta’s finances remain solid, with no reliance on loans to execute these projects.

The commissioner dismissed concerns about the administration’s capacity, stating that the approved projects directly counter criticisms questioning the state’s development trajectory.

He added that the governor has directed strict supervision across ministries and agencies to ensure timely and quality execution of the projects.
