THE NATIONAL Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Sulaiman Jimoh, a notorious drug cartel leader in Mushin, Lagos.

Known as Temo, the 57-year-old kingpin had eluded capture for years. Jimoh’s arrest came after a fierce standoff between his armed gang and NDLEA operatives.

For two years, NDLEA has seized large drug consignments linked to Jimoh.

Despite several encounters, he always managed to escape.

Recent seizures include 14,524.8 kg of Ghana Loud cannabis, intercepted in January 2024 in Lagos, and 8,852 kg of the same substance seized in Lekki in May 2023. In July 2023, 252 kg of Loud was found in Mushin.

Jimoh’s reputation for evading arrest kept NDLEA on high alert.

Using advanced tools and intelligence, NDLEA tracked him to Igbarere Street in Mushin.

On July 22, 2024, they pinned him down at 10 a.m. Jimoh attempted to flee in a Mercedes Benz SUV, but the NDLEA mobilized 50 operatives to the area.

After a brief clash, NDLEA overpowered him, arrested him, and recovered the SUV.

NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa applauded the operatives’ resilience and professionalism.

He emphasized that this arrest sends a clear message to all drug cartels.

Marwa urged continued pressure on drug operations nationwide, warning other criminals that they cannot evade capture forever.
