Presidency Assures No Leadership Vacuum Despite Absence of President and VP

THE PRESIDENCY has assured Nigerians that the absence of both President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima does not mean there is a leadership vacuum.

President Tinubu, who left the country on October 2, 2024, is on a two-week working vacation, actively managing the nation’s affairs from abroad.

During this period, Tinubu continues to communicate and issue directives on state matters.

Vice President Shettima, who left the country on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, is in Sweden for bilateral engagements to represent Nigeria.

According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, all government organs are fully functional.

The Senate President, the Secretary to the Government, ministers, and service chiefs remain in place to ensure the smooth running of government operations.

Onanuga referenced similar situations in 2022 and earlier in 2024, where the absence of both top leaders did not disrupt governance.
