Beiersdorf Nigeria Donates N16.4mn to Support Paediatric Cancer Survivors

By JKNewsMedia

THE RECENT donation of N16,456,500.00 to The Dorcas Cancer Foundation will help support paediatric cancer survivors in Nigeria.

Raised through a fundraising initiative, the funds were generated by contributing three hundred naira from every Nivea product sold at five major retail chains from September to November 2024.

Based on a partnership between Beiersdorf Nigeria and The Dorcas Cancer Foundation, the initiative aims to create a Back-to-School fund for children who have survived cancer.

The fund will cover their tuition, uniforms, books, and other necessary fees, helping these children rejoin the education system.

This year, the initiative aims to support 15 children for all three academic terms.

Beiersdorf Nigeria’s Country Manager, Oladele Adeyole, emphasised the company’s commitment to community welfare, stating that the donation will alleviate the financial burden on families struggling to send their children back to school after cancer treatment.

Adeyole also recognised the role of Beiersdorf’s trade partners, including Justrite, Shoprite, Market Square, Next Cash & Carry, and Hyper City, in making the initiative successful.

Dr. Adedayo Joseph, Founder of The Dorcas Cancer Foundation, expressed profound gratitude for Beiersdorf Nigeria’s support, highlighting the positive impact the donation will have on the families of the children involved.
