HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES has been extended to the family of the late Ibrahim Lamorde, the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), following his recent passing by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Expressing his deep sorrow over Lamorde’s death, and highlighting the significant void it leaves in the nation’s fight against corruption, Akpabio described the news as a “rude shock” that deprives Nigeria of Lamorde’s invaluable expertise during a crucial period of national development.
“I was profoundly shocked and disbelieving when I received the news of the passing of Ibrahim Lamorde, former EFCC Chairman and Deputy Inspector General of Police. His death is an enormous loss to our nation as it takes away his vast experience and wisdom,” Akpabio stated.
Reflecting on the inevitability of life’s end, Akpabio conveyed his sympathies on behalf of his family, the people of Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District, and the Nigerian Senate. He extended his thoughts and prayers to Lamorde’s family, friends, and colleagues, wishing them strength in this difficult time.
“May Almighty God, in His infinite mercy, grant the departed soul aljannah-Firdaus,” he concluded, invoking divine peace and comfort for Lamorde’s loved ones.
