THE ENUGU State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Tsehemba Joshua, for allegedly murdering a 19-year-old scrap scavenger, Yusuf Ibrahim.
The incident took place on October 2, according to a statement by police spokesperson Daniel Ndukwe, posted on Monday.
Joshua allegedly lured Ibrahim with the pretense of selling a scrap motor vehicle part before robbing him of N100,000.
Afterward, he reportedly strangled the young man and buried his body in a shallow grave at Ojo River in Ogbodu-Aba, Obollo community, Udenu Local Government Area.
The local community alerted the Udenu Police Division, leading to Joshua’s arrest.
Following an investigation by the Campus Monitoring/Anti-Cultism Section of the State CID Enugu, Joshua was remanded to the Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre.
He appeared in court along with two accomplices, and formal charges are pending further legal proceedings.
