TRAGEDY HAS struck the Nigerian gospel film industry again, as actress Toluwalope Adegboyega-Alagbe, fondly called Flora by fans, has passed away following a car accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Her death has left the entertainment community in shock, with tributes pouring in from colleagues and admirers.
Joshua Mike-Bamiloye, son of Mount Zion Faith Drama Ministry founder Mike Bamiloye, confirmed her passing in a heartfelt post on X.com.
Describing her as “a light in this world,” he expressed his struggle to process the loss and extended prayers for her grieving family.
Known for her role in the acclaimed gospel movie series Abattoir, Toluwalope’s death has deeply affected those who worked with her.
Fellow actor Oluwaseun Adejumobi shared a touching tribute, recalling her dedication to acting and her eagerness to serve.
He described their last conversation, where she expressed excitement about future projects, and how she had remained hopeful even while recovering in the hospital.
Social media has been flooded with messages of sorrow and remembrance from fans and colleagues. Many have praised Toluwalope’s impact on faith-based films, highlighting her talent and passion for gospel storytelling.
Her passing comes just months after the loss of another key figure in the Nigerian gospel film industry, Moses Korede Are, known as Baba Gbenro in Abattoir.
